“Guns in the Hands of Artists”

See this show April 14 to May 25 at the Swords into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery, 33 East Adams Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226.  This exhibit is presented by Women’s Caucus for the Arts, Michigan Chapter, and supported by Mom’s Demand Action.  (MIWCA)  I have two collages in this exhibition.

The exhibit opening will take place on Saturday, April 14th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.  (Swords)

Artists have a unique role to play within the global struggle for peace and the elimination of gun violence in our country.  Driven by concern with the overwhelming availability of firearms and the national crisis faced by the use of guns in our society, this show shows art that explores the impact of guns on our communities, particularly through the big business of gun sales. A percentage of the entry fees will be donated to “Mothers Demand Action” and “Mothers of Murdered Children”. Image: Members of Credo Protest NRA in Wake of Sandy Hook
