I enjoyed visiting the Festival yesterday to see some wonderful quilts! The First Presbyterian Church on South Saginaw Street is showing quilts from “Sacred Threads,” (Sacred), of Virginia. This group of art quilts represent themes of spirituality, joy, grief, healing, and more. I include just a few images–it is a wonderful exhibition. I loved it!
Black Beauties by Beth Schnellenberger, Indiana
Lost in the Garden Maze by Christine S. Cetrulo, Kentucky
Woodland Sanctuary by Jan B. Gavin, Maryland
The Black Dress by Lorie McCown, Virginia
Flint Public Library hosted a fabulous exhibit of the 28th African American Quilting Guild–WOW! Imaginative and inspiring!

I am an artist and teacher working with fiber, fabric, and mixed media collage. I love providing art instruction for all ages. I also teach Zentangle, a special, meditative drawing technique that focuses the mind and releases creativity. My Certified Zentangle Teacher training (2012) was made possible by a Chris Clark Fellowship award from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing. My mission is to guide others to an artFULL path.
