I enjoyed a fantastic exhibit today at the Flint Institute of Arts in Flint, Michigan—Ubuhle Women: Beadwork and the Art of Independence (Ubuhle Women). I highly recommend seeing the exhibition, which runs through March 31st. It is dazzling, rich, lush, organic, colorful, amazing, curvy and stupendous! The pieces are comprised of fabric which has been embellished with glass beads–breathtaking work! My pictures DO NOT capture the deliciousness of the pieces–you have to see for yourself.

I am an artist and teacher working with fiber, fabric, and mixed media collage. I love providing art instruction for all ages. I also teach Zentangle, a special, meditative drawing technique that focuses the mind and releases creativity. My Certified Zentangle Teacher training (2012) was made possible by a Chris Clark Fellowship award from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing. My mission is to guide others to an artFULL path.
